Garment resale programme to expand across US Lululemon stores

13/04/2022

Canadian performance apparel brand Lululemon has said a 2021 pilot to test a trade-in and resale programme for pre-worn products has proved successful. It will now roll out the programme, Like New, across almost 400 stores in the US.

Its aim in extending Like New is to extend the life of as many Lululemon products as it can.
Participating customers can take used Lululemon garments to one of the stores and trade it in for a gift card. Customers can shop for the second-hand garments on a dedicated Like New e-commerce site.

The 2021 trial involved around 80 stores in Texas and California. The company said it received “an overwhelmingly positive response” and that the majority of products people handed in were “as good as new”.

It said expanding Like New was a natural next step.
