Lululemon sets sights on Spain
Hot on the heels of opening its biggest Asian store outside China earlier this month, Canadian activewear band Lululemon has revealed plans to enter the Spanish market with a dedicated e-commerce portal and new stores in both Madrid and Barcelona.

The launch of a local-language website, lululemon.es, will take place in late July, followed by the opening of boutiques along Calle Serrano in Madrid and Paseo de Gracia in Barcelona this September.

“As a brand which supports wellbeing, Lululemon has a strong synergy with the active, balanced lifestyle enjoyed in Spain,” commented the company’s executive vice-president over international markets, André Maestrini. “The strength of our model across product innovation, guest experience, community and culture provides a unique advantage as we introduce Lululemon to our newest market.”

Lululemon’s entry into Spain represents its first European expansion since 2019. Currently, the brand operates close to 40 stores and three local-language websites in eight countries on the continent. Its owned retail presence in Europe encompasses France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.

The company also launched its first ever outdoor collection, Hike, on July 5.
