Lululemon opens biggest Asian store outside China
According to South Korean media reports, Canada-based activewear brand Lululemon has opened its largest store in Asia outside China in Seoul’s Itaewon neighbourhood, home to a relatively high number of expats and known for its foreigner-friendly shopping.

The entire floor space covers approximately 727.3 square metres over two floors, with the entire upper level dedicated to menswear.

In-store fitness and community wellness classes with local brand ambassadors are already on the schedule for July, in a bid to jumpstart what Lululemon hopes will be its new role in “bringing positive and new energy to the colourful Itaewon community”, a spokesperson told reporters. A special exercise mat engraving service will be offered between July 2 and 3, in celebration of the store’s opening weekend.

The first 500 customers to spend more than 100,000 South Korean won or around $77 in the store will receive a complimentary t-shirt on the theme of diversity, made in collaboration with Danish-Korean husband and wife artistic duo JunkHouse and Storm.

Separately, the brand is also currently gearing up for the global launch of its hiking collection on July 5.
