Targeted approach for Ventile in South Korea
Performance material developer Ventile has appointed a new distribution partner in its efforts to expand in South Korea. It has appointed Grimm International as the exclusive distributor of its fabrics in that market.
Initially, Ventile will seek to bolster sales in South Korea of its Ventile Original fabric, a densely structured cotton fabric treated with a PFC-free durable water repellency (DWR) finish on both sides for performance and water resistance.
In parallel, Grimm will also distribute newer cotton-blend fabrics that Ventile makes with hemp, linen and lyocell. Ventile plans to expand its fabric range in South Korea after a year.
Brand director, Daniel Odermatt, said there had been “a strong growth in interest” in Ventile from brands in South Korea. He explained that the company had been working director with a number of companies there for some years, but that, with an increase in interest, it made sense to take “a more targeted approach” there now.
