Leadership changes at Barrel after acquisition
Chief executive at The Nature Holdings, Young-Jun Park, has assumed the same role at South Korean swimwear and athletic leisurewear company Barrel, following the mid-July completion of a deal which saw the former purchase a 47.7% stake in the latter.
Mr Park founded The Nature Holdings, based in Seoul, back in 2004. The group specialises in sportswear and travel gear, boasting a brand portfolio that includes National Geographic and NFL. Plans for Barrel include creating “a balanced synergy” between its seasonal assortments from spring-summer through autumn-winter, as well as growing the brand and expanding its presence in global markets, he said.
Already present in overseas territories such as Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, Cambodia and the Maldives, Barrel is poised to enter Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Australia and New Zealand, local media reported. The company’s plans to accelerate its Chinese market entry strategy were also underlined.
