EOCA celebrates successful Earth Day
The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) raised nearly €24,000 during its recent online fundraiser, held over Earth Day 2022.
Earth Day has been celebrated annually on 22 April since 1970, to demonstrate support for environmental protection.
Black Diamond, Cumulus, KEEN, Lesovik, Schöffel, Smartwool, Stanley and Vaude donated a percentage of their online sales to EOCA during the fundraiser.
Original Buff donated items to be sold via Outdoor Gear For Good, a not-for-profit company, with profits being sent to EOCA.
Leadership and Sustainability made a donation to EOCA. In total, €23,948 was raised to benefit EOCA and its supported projects.
Grzegorz Oziminski, sales and marketing specialist at Cumulus, which donated 10% of sales to EOCA over the Earth Day weekend, said: “Our sale was almost twice that of a regular weekend and we were able to make a significant donation to the EOCA Earth Day campaign total. This is great news, which motivates us to do even more next year.”
Catherine Savidge, joint general manager of EOCA, said: “The generosity of EOCA members has enabled a significant amount of money to be raised during Earth Day 2022. By working together, EOCA, its members and outdoor enthusiasts can deliver real impact, supporting important conservation work in vital habitats around the world.”
The EOCA sustaining members are: Pertex, KEEN Footwear, The North Face, Nikwax, ISPO and OutDoor by ISPO (Messe München), Stanley, and the European Outdoor Group (EOG), which is also the founder member of the association.
