Brazilian brand builds Graphene-Wear into its ranges

Brazilian activewear brand BiaBrazil has joined hands with UK engineering company Versarien, as part of a commercial agreement that will allow it to use the latter’s proprietary Graphene-Wear formulations in a new range of athletic apparel for men and women.

Ahead of an expected global launch in early 2023, the collaborators revealed that they have been conducting joint trials with supply chain partners local to Brazil for the past 16 months. Founder and chief executive at BiaBrazil, Beatriz Dockhorn, called the resulting sportwear “next-generation”.

Meanwhile, Versarien chief executive, Neill Ricketts, described “comfort, style and design” as a unifying thread running through the collections. The final garments will all bear Versarien’s Graphene-Wear logo as a signifier of the presence of graphene, one of the thinnest and strongest materials by weight. According to its developer, Graphene-Wear provides increased thermal transmittance and moisture management properties.
