Inov-8 celebrates Mont Blanc with special edition

The black and white shoe features the height of Europe’s most famous mountain (4810m) on its midsole and footbed. It also has contour lines – inspired by mapping from The Alps region – across its upper.
The shoe, first launched in March, is the only running shoe to use both graphene-enhanced foam and rubber.
Designed for trail runners tackling ultramarathon distance events and challenges, the shoe has become one of inov-8’s best-selling products.
Michael Price, COO of British-born inov-8, said: “It’s amazing to think it’s 235 years ago this month since the first recorded ascent of Mont Blanc, Western Europe’s highest – and toughest – peak.
“Since then, the mountain and the incredible trails that surround it have inspired countless runners, hikers and climbers, all drawn to its grandeur and challenges.
“We wanted to design a special footwear edition that reflected the toughness of those who push limits on Mont Blanc’s slopes.”
Inov-8 will be in Chamonix, at the base of Mont Blanc, later in August, when many of the world’s best ultra-runners will race on a course that circumnavigates the mountain.
