New hiking shoe from Vivobarefoot is for ‘rewilding’

Thanks to “intelligent” spacing between cleats, the re-engineered firm ground (FG) outsole provides an improved grip that is suitable for all terrains, according to the brand. Metal-free leather has been used for the uppers, while an internal Woolmark-knitted sock offers “unparalleled barefoot sensation”, in addition to natural temperature regulation and antimicrobial properties. The shoes have also been constructed with circularity in mind; they can be remade and subsequently resold via Vivobarefoot’s ReVivo platform.
Co-founder, chief design officer and seventh-generation cobbler Asher Clark commented: “Normal hiking boots are rigid, heavy, overly cushioned and structured. Unlike a traditional hiking boot, the Tracker Decon FG2 is designed for uninhibited foot mobility, so you can reconnect to nature and feel your next adventure from the ground up. It’s a sensory experience as much as it is a tool for exploring the outdoors and rewilding our souls.”
