Prices rise at Vivobarefoot to counter increasing costs
Vivobarefoot has announced a 7% price increase on around half its footwear styles as it faces rises in “pretty much everything we rely on to make and deliver footwear”.

Founder Galahad Clark, of the Clarks Shoes family, explained that as a “fiercely independent and self-funded family business” this meant some of those costs would have to be passed on.

He said: “I’m proud of the fact that we don’t cut corners, we’re a top scoring B Corp and genuinely pursuing regeneration in everything we do for people and planet. But unfortunately, being unconventional wisdom, this comes at a cost, and we’ve got a long way to go.”

The company recently launched made-to-order scan-to-print VivoBiome, several circular solutions through ReVivo and natural health educational content through VivoHealth.

Last year, Vivobarefoot sold around 750,000 shoes, around 20% more than in 2021, with revenues of £49.4 million. However, profit was only £400,000 which it said was “quite a way short of our expected figure” in part due to Covid-19 impacts, which meant it air freighted stock to meet demand following delays at suppliers in China.
