Cotton farming project will save 1m tonnes of emissions, VF says
A foundation set up by clothing and footwear group VF Corporation has provided a grant to the US Regenerative Cotton Fund (USRCF).
The fund’s aim is to help advance the adoption of soil health management systems across more than 400,000 hectares of US cotton cropland.
This will involve working with farmers to put science-based initiatives in place to support long-term, regenerative cotton production in the US. The VF Foundation said the goal was to eliminate 1 million tonnes of CO2-equivalent emissions by 2026.
