TNF continues double-digit ascent, but VF down 8% overall

US apparel group VF Corporation, owner of The North Face (TNF), Timberland and Vans, plus others, has registered a year-on-year decline of 8% for the three months ended July 1, reporting $2.1 billion in revenue.

TNF grew 12% to bring in $2.09 billion, whereas Timberland saw a decline of 6%. Ongoing difficulties at Vans continued, with the brand down 22% year on year.

New chief executive Bracken Darrell took up his post on July 17.

Mr Darrell, who also serves as company president, commented: “VF has a portfolio of globally recognised, iconic brands, a deeply embedded purpose and impressive talent, all of which gives me every confidence [that] we have all the necessary ingredients to unlock the company’s significant potential and return to delivering strong, sustainable and profitable growth.”
