VF’s EMEA reshuffle shows more movement at top

10/01/2023

VF Corporation, the US-based owner of brands including Icebreaker, The North Face, Timberland, Supreme, Smartwool and Altra, has announced changes to its Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) leadership.

The news follows Steve Rendle’s decision to retire as chief executive with immediate effect last month.

To allow for “stronger cohesion and alignment” across EMEA and Asia-Pacific (APAC), Martino Scabbia Guerrini’s remit has now extended to APAC, expanding his existing role to make him executive vice-president and president of EMEA, APAC and emerging brands.

Meanwhile, general manager of Timberland EMEA, Mariano Alonso, will move over to The North Face, assuming the same responsibilities at that brand. Mr Alonso takes up the reins following the departure of Jan Van Leeuwen, who will now head up The North Face as general manager of the Americas. Current president of VF’s Global Packs division, Nina Flood, will replace Mr Alonso at Timberland in EMEA.

“I am happy to work even closer with [APAC president] Winnie Ma and the entire APAC team to share best practices and account management opportunities to make the VF International business even stronger,” Mr Scabbia Guerrini said. “I am proud of each brand leader who has received a new leadership appointment."

VF International’s European headquarters are located in Stabio, Switzerland.
