Montforts makes Gunnar Meyer managing director
Textile finishing machinery manufacturer Montforts has named industry veteran Gunnar Meyer (pictured) to the role of managing director, effective January 1.
Mr Meyer began his career with the company and remained with the team for several decades before departing in 2019. He returned in 2019, following time spent with several domestic nonwovens machinery makers during the intervening period.
Of his immediate plans, Montfort's new managing director said: “My special focus will certainly be on challenges like the current energy crisis, alternative heating systems and sustainable textile finishing.”
He is also due to be among those representing the business at textile and garment processing technology exhibition ITMA, which will take place in Milan from June 8 to 14.
Founded in Germany in 1884, Montforts is today part of Hong Kong-headquartered group CHTC Fong’s International. Its customers can trial various fabrics at its Austrian production site, where the company has made its machinery for 40-plus years.
