Skims recruits former Moncler Americas president

US lingerie, leisurewear and swimwear brand Skims, which launched as a shapewear line in 2019, has appointed Robert Norton (pictured) to its executive leadership team.

Mr Norton most recently served as Milan-based luxury outerwear company Moncler's Americas president.

Prior to that, he was chief executive of another Italian luxury brand, Roberto Cavalli, where he was similarly in charge of overseeing the label’s Americas business. He worked at US luxury brand Ralph Lauren for close to 15 years before this.

Mr Norton will now take up the role of Skims' first-ever chief commercial officer, reporting to co-founder and chief executive Jens Grede.

Commenting on the decision to hire Mr Norton, Mr Grede said: “I have been a fan of Robert’s for several years and believe him to be a rare, creatively minded executive who knows how to build both a brand and a business. We are excited to have Robert on the team as we continue the evolution of Skims into a global retail brand."

Skims’ other co-founders include media personality Kim Kardashian and entrepreneur Emma Grede, Mr Grede’s wife, who also co-founded clothing and footwear company Good American alongside another Kardashian sister, Khloe, where she is currently chief executive.
