Polyethylene plant on track for BASF in China

Chemicals group BASF has broken ground on a new polyethylene (PE) plant at its site in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province, China.

The new plant will have a capacity of 500,000 tonnes of PE per year and will serve what BASF has called fast-growing demand in China. Production is scheduled to begin in 2025.
