‘New chapter’ for Puma China

Sports brand Puma has appointed Shirley Li (pictured) as its general manager in China as part of the company’s strategy to grow sales.

Ms Li previously worked as vice-president of wholesale at Adidas but joined Puma in March as commercial director.

She replaces Philippe Bocquillon, who becomes area manager for Greater China, which includes China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Puma CEO Arne Freundt said:  “I am very excited that we will open a new chapter for Puma China under the new leadership of Shirley.

"I  am confident under her leadership we will rebound strongly in China, which is one of our key strategic priorities.”

David Lu has been appointed as commercial director. Most recently, he worked as the general manager of retail operations at Levi’s.

In April, the German brand reported a return to growth in Greater China for the first time in two years.
