Puma Korea marks Manchester City treble win with special shirts
Germany-based sports brand Puma’s South Korean business, Puma Korea, will open the doors to a “Puma City” pop-up inside the Lotte World Shopping Mall in Seoul’s Songpa district between July 28 and 30.
The temporary storefront is intended as a physical show of support from English football club Manchester City’s sponsor, Puma, in celebration of the team’s treble-winning season during 2022-2023.
For the first time, Manchester City took home the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League trophies, commonly known as “the treble” among fans of the sport.
On day two, players from the men’s, women’s and under-23 sides like Jack Grealish, Ederson, Manuel Akanji, Laia Aleixandri and Oscar Bobb will participate in a meet and greet with fans, after which local television personality Bae Seong-jae will host a Q&A. The final day will see club legends Joleon Lescott and Shaun Wright-Phillips also pay a visit, to spend more time with fans.
A limited run of team jerseys emblazoned with calligraphic text inspired by Hangul, the Korean alphabet, will be available for purchase. According to reports from within the country, members of the squad, currently in Asia as part of a pre-season tour, are expected to themselves wear the tops in the run-up to their friendly with Atlético Madrid in Seoul on July 30.
