Korfa holds ‘urgent meeting’ over Korean rPET supply

Korea Recycled Fibre Association (Korfa) has held “an urgent meeting”, its third since June 20, to lament the lack of progress with importing recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) fibre for textiles, local media have reported.

According to Korfa, its members are disappointed by what was described as “authorities’ complacency”, despite the group's petitions to the country’s environment ministry.

Representatives, including those directly engaged in raw material imports, are keen to receive an explanation as to the perceived delay to increasing import volumes, as well as news on top-down strategies to boost domestic rPET supply, reports went on to say.
