South Korea deal brings big success for Ventile
Zurich-based technical textile developer Ventile has said an agreement it entered into in June 2022 with South Korea-based distributor Grimm International, has helped it achieve a big increase in sales in Asia.
In the first six months of 2023, its sales revenues in Asia were up by 64%.
Ventile said there had been strong demand for its Twill 225 all-weather material, as well as for materials it sells in its eco and organic ranges.
It attributed this growth to an expansion in Asia of more conscious consumers, manufacturers, and distributors who are looking for sustainable options in the textile market.
Brand director, Daniel Odermatt, commented: “Ventile has successfully traded in the Asian market for over a decade. In 2022 we made the decision to link up with Grimm International to support our growth in this location and the sales figures from the first year of our partnership have surpassed our expectations. We are thrilled to see such significant growth and are excited about the future opportunities this market holds.”
For his part, the chairman of Grimm International, Allan Cho, said Ventile had proved to be “a huge draw” for customers in the South Korean market. “The excellent quality of the product and its rich heritage have quickly made it one of our premier brands,” he added.
