Adidas tailors X Crazyfast boot to China’s astroturf
After debuting its newest football boot, the X Crazyfast, earlier this month, just in time for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, currently underway in Australia and New Zealand, athletic shoemaker adidas has launched a special edition specific to the Chinese market.
Brazil, Australia and the US have also received their own country exclusives, built around the main X Crazyfast model, known as the P+. Two others, the P1 Laced and the P1 Laceless, flesh out the line-up. China’s version is reportedly inspired by the astroturf playing fields which dominate the spaces where local football fans gather to play and train.
In this vein, the shoes have been built on a new, adidas-designed TX AG (artificial ground) outsole for optimised performance. Sold as the X Crazyfast P1 Laced and P3 boots in the Chinese market, the domestic campaign is fronted by local professional footballer Tang Jiali.
