US-based materials developer PrimaLoft has revealed that Austrian sportswear manufacturer Löffler will for the first time use its Active Evolve line of breathable insulation fabrics, first launched in 2018, in its cross-country skiing collections this autumn-winter.

The brand, which serves as official apparel supplier to its home country’s national Nordic ski athletes, primarily selected Active Evolve for its versatility, commented head of product management, Stefan Gögele. “This material offers the perfect combination of breathability, moisture transport and thermal performance,” he continued.

“At the same time, it is wonderfully compressible and also sustainable using recycled content. This makes it an ideal partner for our cross-country skiing, biking and ski touring jackets.”

The fabrics offer next-to-skin comfort solutions, foregoing liners, “eliminate the need for quilting in design” and can be made from up to 100% post-consumer recycled content. According to PrimaLoft's senior vice-president of product strategy, Tara Maurer-Mackay, they have a thermoregulatory system “that maintains comfort and elevates performance year-round”.

Other key brand adopters for the upcoming colder months include Sitka Gear, CP Company, Eddie Bauer, Ziener, Martini Sportswear, Endura, Quiksilver and Omm, plus more.
