Outdoor Research publishes first annual impact report
Outdoor Research, a US-based manufacturer of technical gear and apparel, has issued its inaugural annual impact report, covering the 12 months of 2022.
Regarding preferred materials, the company has revealed that 65% all fabrics it used last year, excluding fastenings and trims, met Bluesign’s approval standard. Of those, 32% of polyester was recycled, compared to 13% of nylons. Meanwhile, 100% of down obtained Responsible Down Standard certification.
As for per- or polyfluorinated chemicals (PFAS), Outdoor Retailer said that “nearly all” of its spring-summer 2024 ranges would “contain no intentionally added PFAS”. It gave January 1, 2025, as its target for a complete phase-out of such intentionally added PFAS and emphasised its commitment to sourcing 100% renewable energy for North American facilities through 2030.
