Performance fibre developer TMC is aiming to expand the use of its Herculan product in footwear.
New Zealand-based TMC launched Herculan in 2022. It makes the product using its Nuyarn spinning technology to wrap wool fibres round a performance filament.

It has said increasing demand for using natural fibres in a range of products, including footwear, makes it optimistic about growth in this market. It has appointed Tim Liao as manager of its international footwear accounts to drive this growth.

Mr Liao has held previous roles at a number of global brands, including Nike and Lululemon. He said: “The opportunities for innovation and collaboration in this domain are vast, and I am eager to work alongside current and future partners to help shape the industry and bring innovative products to market.”
