FlowFit features citrus-derived fibre

Sustainable activewear brand FlowFit, based in London, is introducing a new product made from citrus by-products.

“We believe sustainability and style should go hand in hand,” said FlowFit founder Paula Dale, a fashion industry executive who founded the eco-minded activewear brand last year. “Our Bio Tees showcase the power of innovation—transforming citrus waste into something beautiful, wearable, and beneficial for the planet.”

The Bio Tee is made from a jersey fabric blending 20% orange viscose with 80% Ecovero viscose, a Lenzing fibre, and is sold £45.00. The brand’s dedication to sustainability extends to its choice of packaging, which is made from 100% compostable sugarcane.

The orange fibre is made from “leftover orange peels from the juicing industry—what would normally be discarded becomes something beautiful. These citrus by-products are dried, ground, and transformed into a soft, silky fibre through a low-impact chemical process that uses significantly less water and energy than conventional methods. The result is orange viscose: breathable, naturally biodegradable, and rich in circular innovation. Paired with Ecovero, a certified sustainable viscose derived from responsibly managed wood sources, this fabric offers a luxurious drape and a conscious footprint. It's a blend where waste becomes wear, and style meets sustainability—naturally,” Ms Dale tells Sportstextiles. “The fibre was developed by our partner mill called Modelmalhas, based in Barcelos, Portugal.”
