Coats introduces textile-to-textile sewing threads
Ahead of the Textile Exchange Conference in Lisbon, Portugal, Coats Group is introducing its first ‘circular’ sewing threads made from recycled textiles. Developed in house, at the company’s Sustainability Hub in India, Coats Textile-to-Textile threads are made from post-industrial and post-consumer waste that is chemically recycled. They are available in two ranges, Epic and Gramax.

By next year, the sewing thread manufacturer has pledged to increase the proportion of ‘preferred raw materials’ in its offering from 46% in 2024 to 60% in 2026.

The new textile-to-textile range will allow its brand partners integrate additional recycled content in their products by making circular content possible for an often disregarded component of garments, the sewing thread.
