Cologne-based fashion brand Armedangels has signed a letter of intent to use Spinnova fibres in the future.

Finnish bio-materials company Spinnova has been working since 2014 to develop recyclable yarns from paper-grade wood pulp and other natural materials. It has recently undergone a period of restructuring.

Senior commercial manager, Pedro Brito, said Spinnova was “incredibly proud” to announce the new partnership with Armedangels, which he described as a brand that stands “at the forefront of sustainable and responsible fashion”.

For her part, Armedangels innovation and circularity manager, Päivi Eräpuu, said Spinnova’s fibre-making approach was “fundamentally different”, with real potential to be an alternative to cotton. “Introducing new materials takes time, but once we commit, we go all in,” she said.
