Canberra-based biotech company Samsara Eco, a maker of plastic-eating enzymes that can break down nylon and polyester fibres, is among five new members of the European Outdoor Group.

In November, the Australian company and the EOG launched Nylon Materials Collective to make recycled nylon accessible to more brands through collective buying.

Angie Au-Yeung, head of pegional Partnerships at Samsara Eco, said, “Following the successful launch of the Nylon Materials Collective, we are thrilled to be a part of the EOG formally. The EOG is making an incredible impact in the outdoor apparel industry, and we look forward to learning from their members, resources and market insights in greater capacity.”

The four other new members are consultancy Astraia Digital, European Network of Outdoor Sports, Sports+Outdoor Research, and CircKit, an AI-powered 'circular toolkit' for fashion and footwear.
