Activewear brand LSKD signs 10-year partnership with Samsara Eco
Fast-growing Australian activewear brand LSKD has announced it will “transition key product lines from nylon 6 to Samsara Eco’s recycled nylon 6,6”, marking the launch of recycled polyamide in the brand’s ranges. LSKD operates 31 stores globally and plans to open another 70 in the next three years, its revenues exceed $200 million (€122 million). The brand is based in Logan and initially focused on motocross, BMX and water sports. LSKD refers to the nickname of one of the founders, Loose Kid, and it diversified into athleisure in 2018.
Samsara Eco has developed a proprietary enzymatic recycling technology that can process textile waste, including blended materials, reverting these into their building blocks. Its first recycling plant in Jerrabomberra, Australia, began production last year and it plans to have a second facility running in Asia by 2028.
Last year, Samsara Eco signed a similar agreement with Canadian athleisure brand Lululemon to supply recycled nylon and polyester across approximately 20% of its product portfolio over the next ten years.
