Protest Sportswear acquires 8848 Altitude
Protest Sportswear, part of Dutch group Dekker Olifanta, has acquired the brand rights to 8848 Altitude, a high-end Swedish ski and outdoor brand. The move strengthens the group’s presence in a more technical and higher end market segment of winter sports apparel. 8848 “operates in a higher price and technical segment that complements Protest’s existing positioning and does not compete with its core collections,” said Wesley van Wijnbergen, Protest’s managing director. 

Founded in 1990, 8848 Altitude was actively looking for a “financially strong partner with a robust international distribution network,” commented 8848 founder and designer Magnus Berggren. 

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
