Amann introduces novel functions to sewing yarns

German sewing yarn maker Amann Group presented a series of innovative sewing threads at Texprocess, on this week in Frankfurt. In addition to a yarn made from AeoniQ, a new cellulosic fibre, that won a Texprocess innovation award, the company has also announced a partnership with Resortecs, from Belgium, to industrialise production of a sewing yarn that can be dissolved using heat to separate panels and disassemble end-of-life garments.

Amann’s new Waterfil yarn is designed to dissolve in water and is made for sewing temporary labels. Made from PVA, it will disappear at first wash. For high-tech effects and protection in low light conditions, Amann is introducing Reflect, its first retro-reflective sewing and embroidery threads. For upscale applications, its Saba evo is the result of a compact spinning process that makes the yarn less hairy and ideally suited for upscale applications.
