French biotech company Carbios has announced that its plan to raise the funds needed to build its first industrial scale recycling plant in Longlaville, France, will not be met at its initial deadline set for the end of September 2026.

The company said that it had obtained approval from certain banks, but noted that “given the highly innovative and first-of-its-kind nature of the Longlaville project”, some parties have yet to finalise due diligence procedures.

Carbios said it remained “fully committed and confident in its ability to secure the conditions necessary to finalise the financing of the Longlaville”. It expects to provide an update when it releases its half year results on September 24, 2026.
