Indorama introduces odour-capturing technology

01/09/2026

Thailand-based Indorama Ventures will be officially launching a new odour-capturing solution at the international fibre congress that takes place from September 16 to 18, in Dornbirn, Austria. The non-biocide formula is engineered to target odour-causing compounds and is integrated directly into the fibre.

The new anti-odour function will be marketed under the group’s umbrella brand expera, a bi-component fibre portfolio that includes solutions delivering superior sensory, visual or haptic appeal, the company said.

“This patented technology is a non-biocidal, and fragrance-free approach compatible with polyolefin and polyester fibres. It has undergone extensive evaluation using a combination of analytical and real-use testing methodologies. These included gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis, sensory evaluations and testing with real urine samples to ensure that measurable laboratory performance translates into meaningful consumer benefits,” said Anne Louise Theut Meier, R&D engineer for textiles and nonwoven fibres at Indorama Ventures.
