Canada Goose is to open its first office in the US as demand for the outdoor brand’s product grows.

The US accounts for about one fifth of sales, and the Denver office will serve as its US headquarters with a showroom and sales team.

The company has grown 3,500% over the last decade and more than 1,500% growth over the last five years in the US alone. It manufactures all its products in Canada and has recently said it is on the lookout for minority investors to help it expand further.

Dani Reiss, CEO of Canada Goose, said: "Opening our US headquarters is an exciting milestone as well as an important step in the company's long history in freeing people from the cold."

Led by Ian Widmer, director of US sales, the team will build upon existing business in outdoor and lifestyle markets as well as expanding into more fashion-focused accounts.

"Denver is the gateway to the mountains and a major hub of the outdoor industry,” said Mr Widmer. "Together with a new team and agency strategy in place, this office allows us to not only showcase our products, but also to give our customers an opportunity to experience an environment that truly embodies the Canada Goose culture."
