Speakers announced for 2014 OIA conference

25/10/2013

Speakers lined up for next year’s Outdoor Industries Association (OIA) conference and AGM programme include Rory Stewart, UK member of parliament for Penrith and the Border, Richard Leafe, chief executive of the Lake District National Park, and Tashi Sherpa, president of Sherpa Adventure Gear.

The two-day event will be held on March 17-18 at Low Wood Bay Hotel in the Lake District, UK. The programme will include a series of interactive workshops and panel discussions as well as presentations from keynote speakers and from OIA chief executive, Andrew Denton.

Mr Denton said: “Each of the last two OIA conferences has improved on its predecessor in terms of content and scale. With the support of Cumbria Tourism and Lowe Alpine, we have been able to move to a larger venue for 2014, which in turn has allowed us to be even more ambitious with our programme.

“The speakers we have secured already promise fantastic insight and authority from very different perspectives and the discussion panel and workshops are sure to be compelling.

“Add in the outdoor activities, dinner and multiple networking opportunities and I think we have an event that will be outstanding value for money and the UK industry highlight of the year. And the programme is not even complete yet.”
