Canada Goose bought by private equity firm

US private equity firm Bain Capital has bought a majority stake in outdoor company Canada Goose, which had been looking for investment to help it meet growing demand.

Canada Goose chief executive Dani Reiss, whose grandfather founded the company, will remain in his position and keep more than 10% of the company.

“Canada Goose has grown tremendously and we want to continue on that incredible trajectory,” Mr Reiss told sportstextiles.com in June, as part of a brand profile of the company that ran in WSA July/August 2013.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed but Bain is thought to be able to help Canada Goose grow in Asia.
