Timberland plants more than 1 million trees in 2013
Timberland is on track to reach its ambitious target set in 2010 of planting five million trees in five years.
In three years, the company has planted more than two million trees in Haiti and helped 2,000 farmers increase the productivity on their farmlands by more than 50%, it stated.
“Tree planting is a very important way for Timberland to put its environmental values in to action. In China's Horqin Desert, the 1.25 million trees we've planted have helped to prevent sandstorms and desertification," it said.
In 2013, it planted 1,042,462 trees around the globe.
