Dow Microbial Control trains mills to work with Silavdur
Dow Microbial Control, part of the Dow Chemical Company, is launching a ‘certified mill programme’, recognising textile manufacturers that have been trained to add its Silvadur antimicrobial to their production processes.

Dow claims the antimicrobial, which can be used on apparel and footwear, is the only known polymer technology that intelligently releases silver ions as odour-causing organisms appear on the surface of fabric.

“In today’s highly competitive marketplace, consumer loyalty is directly related to product quality,” said Karel Williams, global marketing manager for Dow Microbial Control.

Dow will provide the mills that meet its criteria with technical and production training, increased promotional support and expanded access to brands and retailers, it says.
