Sympatex tops sportswear category at Future Materials Awards

Laminate maker Sympatex Technologies scooped the Best Innovation in Sportswear and Outdoor Apparel at the inaugural Future Materials Awards, held on the eve of the Aachen-Dresden International Textile Conference and organised by publisher WTiN.

Judges described Phaseable as a “very interesting, innovative construction with outstanding environmental considerations”.

Sympatex beat the other category finalists Coolcore, Nilit, Polartec, Toray, Under Armour and X-Technology Swiss.

X-Technology Swiss won in the Textiles for Clothing category, beating Nottingham Trent University, MMT Textiles Limited, Polartec, Sanitized and Under Armour. Toray, Qmilch and Lenzing lost out to Lauffenmühle in the sustainable textiles category, Polartec took the most innovative medium sized company while Polartec won in the large company category.
