Archroma eyes digital printing sector with ‘pioneering’ inks

Chemicals group Archroma has developed fresh solutions for the textile industry which it is preparing to launch at the ITMA machinery show in Italy in November.

Working with a Swiss technology provider, it claims it has created a pioneering system that will change the way inks are supplied to digital printers.

It says Inkpresso offers production flexibility, no shelf-life problems, a larger colour spectrum and the possibility of an individual coloristic fingerprint.

From January 1, 2016, formaldehyde will be re-classified by ECHA5 as "may cause cancer" (Carc. 1B). To comply, Archroma is combining Fixapret Resin WFF, a "zero add-on"4 formaldehyde no-iron finishing system and Helizarin EcoSafe a "zero add-on"4 formaldehyde printing system.

Archroma, which recently invested in dyestuffs producer M Dohmen, will also showcase its Earthcolours range of dyes made from agricultural waste.
