DyStar and Kelheim team up for novel viscose yarn

Dye-maker DyStar has teamed up with German spinner Linz Textil and viscose specialist Kelheim Fibres to produce at viscose melange yarn with advanced dyeing properties.

While usually a melange yarn is spun of differently coloured fibres, Danufil ProShade is only dyed as needed at a later stage in the process.

The companies say the fibre has a significantly higher dye absorption capacity than standard viscose fibres.

A selected range of Levafix and Remazol dyes allow a salt-free dyeing process and due to shorter dyeing cycles, savings of 30% in terms of water and energy are possible, they add.
