Kelheim announces price increase

21/02/2018
Viscose fibres specialist Kelheim has announced it will increase prices for all its viscose fibre types by a minimum of €0.1/kg with immediate effect.

The company explained that this decision was prompted by the European market price for caustic soda, which it said has risen 35% since the third quarter of 2017 due to “extremely tight availability”.

Matthew North, commercial director of Kelheim Fibres, said: “We have been confronted with a price increase of just under €200 per tonne, and the level of the increase forces us to adjust fibre prices accordingly.”
