Kelheim to outline R&D results at Dornbirn

Viscose fibres manufacturer Kelheim is to present its latest research during five lectures at the Austria-based Dornbirn Man-Made Fibres Congress.

The German company working on new composite materials using bio-polymers and will also show how viscose can be used as a precursor for the production of carbon fibres.

For textiles, a viscose fibre with incorporated infra red-reflecting particles can help to reflect the thermal radiation released from the human body. Dr Daniela Bauer will explain how the intrinsic thermal effect works and which products can benefit from it.

Horst Wörner will also present a filling fibre developed in collaboration with Outlast Technologies.

The 53rd Man-Made Fiber Congress will take place between September 10 and 12.
