Kelheim celebrates viscose fibre milestone
Viscose fibres specialist Kelheim has announced it recently produced its four millionth tonne of viscose fibre. The “jubilee tonne” was produced on line 2 at its manufacturing plant and was a fibre from its Galaxy product line.

The company has said the fact that around 5,000 shirts can be produced from each tonne of viscose fibres means a lot of people across the world have come in contact with Kelheim fibre.

Reacting to the milestone, Kelheim CEO, Craig Barker, said: “Of course, there are bigger viscose fibre plants than ours, plants that can produce the same amount of fibres in less time, but there is no one else who is able to put more than 80 years of experience into every single one of their fibres. At Kelheim, there are families working in the third or even fourth generation for our company. Their loyalty as well as their engagement and know-how are the cornerstone of our success.”
