Swimwear brands unite under new WFSGI Aquatics Committee
The World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) has appointed Speedo’s marketing manager as chairman of a newly formed Aquatics Committee, which will represent swimwear brands towards FINA (Fédération Internationale de Natation), international sport federations and non-governmental organisations such as the World Health Organisation.
Swimwear brands have united under of the WFSGI to discuss industry related issues, but up to date this has been happening on an ad hoc basis.
Robbert de Kock, WFSGI secretary general, said: “The Aquatics Committee represents leading brands and will help develop aquatic safety, activity and sports globally.”
James Hickman will be joined by Franck Horter, general manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa, at Tyr and Greg Steyger, category manager at Arena, have been named as vice-chairs.
The WFSGI is an independent, non-profit association formed by sports brands, manufacturers, suppliers, retailers, national federations and other sporting goods industry-related businesses.
It is preparing for its second manufacturers conference, which will be held in Hong Kong next week.
