AAFA appoints chairman as CEO

The American Apparel & Footwear Association Board has appointed Rick Helfenbein, director of the US operations for Hong Kong-based apparel and footwear giant, as CEO.

Mr Helfenbein has served as AAFA chairman for the past two years and has been a member of the board since 2008.

He said: “Having worked in the industry my entire career, I understand the important issues that we face and will continue the fight to expand and protect opportunities for all our member companies.”

Current CEO Juanita Duggan is leaving to take on a new role and remains CEO until February 8.
