Bangladesh ups garment export targets

The government of Bangladesh has set an export target of $30.3 billion for the garment sector for the current fiscal year. It is 8% higher than the target for last year and the highest ever for the sector.

The target for exports of knitwear has been increased 6% to $14.2 billion and there is a 10% rise in the target for woven products to $16.2 billion.

The apparel sector made up 82% of Bangladesh’s total exports in the 2015-16 financial year.
