Taiwan still “a leading country” in functional textiles

Taiwan continues to play a crucial role in the development of functional textiles – that is the general feeling among exhibitors and visitors at the ongoing Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (Titas), which runs from October 17 to 19.

Urs Hasler, head of product management at Beyond Surface Technologies, which partnered with Taiwanese industrial chemical company Jintex on a range of eco-friendly textile finishes on show at Titas, told sportstextiles.com that Taiwan is still a “leading country when it comes to functional textiles”.

That sentiment was echoed by Justin Huang, secretary general of the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF), who called the country the “home of functional fibres”. He pointed to the continuing success of Titas as evidence that Taiwan remains at the forefront of this aspect of the textile industry.
