02/11/2016
The president and general manager of Puma North America, Jay Piccola, is to retire in 2017, the company has announced.

He has been in the role since 2000 but will step down in the middle of next year. He will remain a non-executive director of Puma North America’s board of directors, as well as having an active role in finding his replacement and assisting in the transition of leadership.

Mr Piccola joined Puma in 1997 as vice president of its North American division, where he led the company’s sales and marketing initiatives. He was promoted to president in January 2000, assuming responsibility for all business activities in North America, including brand positioning.

Pumas described his career at the company as “remarkable”, adding that he had helped manage “the growth and recent resurgence” of the brand.
