Colombia relents on Panama tariffs

24/11/2016
The Colombian government says it has adopted the measures decreed by the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in relation to tariffs on products imported from Panamá.

In August, the WTO deemed that the tariffs were unfair and called for Colombia to remove them. They concern a variety of products, including textiles and footwear.

Having initially announced that it would maintain them, Colombia has now confirmed that it met the demands of the WTO on November 2. The announcement was made by minister of commerce Maria Claudia Lacouture.
